Created in April 1992, to produce beautiful costumes and period clothing for professional theatre, opera, ballet, TV and film companies, over the last twelve years I have been privileged to do commissions for the some of the most prestigious companies and designers in the business. These include Anthony Powell, Frances Tempest, Anthony Ward, Paul Farnsworth, Hugh Durant, Tim Goodchild on shows for the BBC, ITV, The Royal Opera House, several West End productions, The Open Air Theatre Regents Park, and films like 'Calendar Girls' and 'The Others'.
The work has been varied but has involved the interpretation of designs for period, stylized and modern garments often requiring corsetry, foundation wear and lingerie to accompany them. There have been occasions for tailoring skills to be applied for ladies suits and coats. From a simple drawing and measurements, garments are individually fitted to the actor and finished to the highest standards for comfort of wear and durability.
The skills that I have acquired have enabled me to design and create couture evening wear and unique bridal wear for clients outside of the show business world. Using the finest silks and incorporating individual detail for each gown from necklines, to the fastenings and trimmings you can see the quality of workmanship, the personal care and attention that has gone into producing a truly dream dress. All of these attributes have also been applied to my costume work with the addition of deadlines, (however tight) being met on time.
